NFL player accused of civil assault and battery

MISCELLANEOUS

A perennial All-Pro NFL player was accused by two police officers of assault and battery. However, these allegations were not made until the officers discovered the identity of the Defendant. Thereafter, they sued for both compensatory and punitive damages alleging that the Defendant caused back injuries to both Plaintiffs. The Defendant adamantly opposed these allegations and refused to settle. A defense verdict was entered after a five-day jury trial.
