Summary
Paul J. Walsh III is the managing partner and founder of Walsh, Collis & Blackmer, PC. He is a 1986 graduate of Denison University and a 1990 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He is admitted to practice in both State and Federal Court in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State of West Virginia and State of Ohio. He is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell and was recognized as a 2007 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer.
Mr. Walsh has tried more than 100 jury trials. His practice covers the entire spectrum of civil litigation including, but not limited to, defending companies and individuals in wrongful death, bodily injury and catastrophic property losses arising from major fires, construction, industrial, tractor-trailer and automobile accidents, in addition to product liability claims. He also concentrates his practice on defending bad faith and employment practices liability claims including directors & officers claims. He regularly represents construction companies, tractor-trailer companies, product manufactures, banks, personal care facilities, steel companies and electric companies.
Mr. Walsh frequently lectures at seminars presented by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and a multitude of insurance companies in all of the aforementioned areas. He was one of three attorneys asked to speak at the Pennsylvania State Judicial Conference in February 2007. He has authored published materials pertaining to commercial civil litigation for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. He is a hearing officer for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute (PDI) and the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA). He formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Emergency Medical Foundation in addition to serving as President, Director, and General Counsel for the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. He chairs the firm’s civil litigation practice and co-chairs the labor and employment relations practice.
